My kitchen is a work in progress. But aren't our houses a work in progress the entire time we live in them? Then we move to another house and start working on it and we only stop when we sell it and move away. At least that's the way it works for me. Three of my houses have been new when I moved in, but I still found plenty of projects even in a new home.
Our current home, I refer to as our 'new old' home is over 25 years old and had been updated a little before we moved in. But it needed a lot more updates and after 5 years of projects - it still needs lots of updates.
Our kitchen like the rest of our house may forever be a work in progress.
Before we moved in it looked like this
and like this
This is, by far, not the ugliest kitchen I've ever seen, but there's a WHOLE LOT OF room for improvement here, in my opinion.
Got rid of that wallpaper - textured, painted, and glazed the walls!!!
Got rid of that wallpaper - installed tile on the backsplash
Installed a new faucet
Installed a new dishwasher
Replaced the trash compactor with a wine cooler Check it out here
Painted the pantry and laundry room doors with chalkboard paint
Removed the ceiling fan, installed a chandelier Check it out here
Added window treatments
At the moment it looks like this

Projects in the future
Paint the island and the trim at the top of the cabinets
Install glass in the upper cabinet doors
Add handles to cabinets and drawers
New tile on the floor
Remove the popcorn from the ceiling
And I'm sure I'll find something additional that just hasn't occurred to me yet.......
As you can see I've saved some of the most expensive items for last, but it's improving. I'm not planning to leave anytime soon, so there's always tomorrow for the next project, or next month, or next year.
Also been working on my dining room, check out that makeover here.
