Very Special Delivery

Last week held an unexpected event in our family.  Our third granddaughter arrived a little more than 4 weeks early.  Needless to say this was not a normal week around our house! We were expecting her in October.

I got to hold her when she was one day old.  SuperDave waited a whole week until she was home from the hospital.

Don't you love baby feet?

I spent 5 out of 8 nights at my son's house with this little sweetie while Mom and Dad took care of the new bundle of joy.  Why is watching a toddler so tiring?  You just feed them, change them, play with them, bathe them, repeat, repeat, repeat but it takes all your energy and attention!

She's as silly as her Dad.  She would look at me between her legs and say her favorite word, "HI!"

We had some very special LaLa time together. And I came home with many memories and lots of pictures.

Mom, Dad, and baby are fine now.  Sadly, I'm back to my regular 40 hour/week job and it's not near as fun as playing with a grand girl.  Also, I'm an hour away - longer depending on Dallas traffic - which is always awful. So I can't just drop in after work and get baby snuggles.  They say with age comes wisdom, and I have the wisdom to know that grand babies grow up way too fast, so I cherish every moment with each one of them.

Much love and laughter,

Laura

California Adventure - Monterey Bay

Oh my!  Monterey Bay!  I took a LOT of pictures here.  I can't show you all the wonders of the aquarium, but I can give you a little taste. And I can tell you that if you plan to see anything other than the Monterey Bay Aquarium you are going to need at least TWO days in Monterey.  We'll be back.

By the time I finish this California adventure series you'll know that our family loves nature and animals of all kinds.

 Also, we love the Beatles,

Bright colors,

rays,

penguins,

and sea otters!  Especially sea otters.

And the unusual.

The jellies exhibit was amazing.  But I don't want to see these guys without the glass separating me from them.

My favorite shots of the day?

Dolphins in the bay free and wild!

And sea lions in a pile at the wharf giving each other kisses.

When we finally left the aquarium it was time to eat...again.

And this was our view out the window of the restaurant on Fisherman's Wharf. Now that's a vacation memory!

We all got new jackets on the Fisherman's Wharf - out of necessity - in the middle of summer!  And we wore them for the next three days.  I love California.  It's snuggling weather in the summertime on the Pacific Coast!

I have not worn my Monterey sweat shirt a single time since we returned home, but today is a rainy, cool taste of fall, so maybe tomorrow.

Much love, laughter and dreams of fall,

Laura
