Adventures in Wood Flooring - Family Room Reveal!

Guess what?  We're (finally) done with the family room - completely finished!  WooHOO!  Over the weekend I finished putting all my pretties back in the cabinets.  Then I snapped a few pics and I'll let them do most of the talking.  If a picture is worth a thousand words, then 4 pictures, should be worth 4,000 words, right?

Standing in the door way this is the view.  This is the couch potato room. The put your feet up and watch a movie room (or eat dinner with your feet up.) Yes, we do, no apologies.  There are a lot of remote controls in this room, the fan and light, the blackout shades, the TV/DVD/etc.  My favorite button is the mute button, for commercials because they are always SO LOUD.

I couldn't get my bar table in the shot above, so I took this picture of the table (and the floor.)  This corner has a window on each side and is a wonderful bright place to sit when the shades are open in warm weather.  But since it is cold, the shades are down.

If you climb up and stand on one of the bar stools you can get a picture from this angle.

After all my agonizing over rugs I decided on this short loop 100% wool rug. Not at all what I planned in the beginning, but a great match for the room.  And when I get my roomba it should transition from the wood to the rug easily since the pile is short.

We are really loving the wood and the rug.  I'm also really loving the slipcover for the sofa.  We've had the kids home, people sitting on it, lying on it, even sleeping on it and the cover stays in place very well.  I also vacuumed a little bit of cat fur and crumbs with the upholstery brush and my vacuum and it came off easily and it didn't suck right up the vacuum cleaner hose!

Happy Monday! Check out my very personal Valentine's Day Decor here.
