Adventures in Wood Flooring Installation Part Three

First of all apologies for the delay in getting this post up.  We've been so busy trying to restore order I have a difficulty finding time to write about what's going on, here's a short update.

Day 3 (or 21) of the Wood Flooring Install Project

After the first day all the leveling compound was dry the installers arrived on their 2nd work day for the actual installation of the wood.  They finished up about 2 to 3 o'clock in the afternoon and SuperDave went to work installing the baseboards.  By the time I arrived home after work around 5:30 he had the baseboards back on in the closet and the family room!

I was literally jumping up and down excited when I saw how beautiful the wood floor looked with the Mayan Red walls in the family room.  Yes, the green hose, the compressor and the tools will go, as soon as we finish up the rest of the trim.

We had a quick bite to eat and then decided to move forward and tackle installing the new 5-1/4" trim in the master.

SuperDave declared we were sleeping in our own bed that night, so after we got the trim on we put our box springs and mattress on top of a quilt on the floor. We made a plan to pull the bed out and caulk the following evening.  So there we were "camping out" in the bedroom AGAIN.

Camping out with wood flooring is a LOT better than camping out with concrete floors.

If you follow my blog you know about my toe pictures.  If you have no idea what I'm talking about you can check it out here and here.  A friend asked for a picture of the floor that night, so I snapped this one with my phone for her as I settled in for the night!

The next steps are caulking, touching up paint and moving the furniture back into the rooms.  We have a lot of work still ahead, but I think I see a tiny little light at the end of the tunnel.
Happy Friday! Have a wonderful weekend.  Mine will be busy - but productive!

I love it!!! Oh Laura, it is just plain gorgeous and so worth all the camping out.

I giggled about the toe picture. Believe it or not, I always think "toes" when I come here or see your face in blog land. But hey... you have good feet. I promise that you would not want a toe theme going on over at my place.

I am amazed that got even a giggle out of anyone. I read blogs of people who are humorous and just laugh out loud. And I want to be humorous, but I'm just not that clever, so I just share my own style. The only funny I really consider myself is funny-strange, not funny-haha! I sure would love to have these toes in warm white sand on this February day. Thanks for stopping by!

Of course your toes make us laugh! Those floors are beautiful. You made all the right choices and it's so worth a little discomfort for such a great look!
