All the furniture (and electronics) have been removed and placed anywhere we could make it fit.
The carpet, pad and tack strip have all been removed and hauled away
The baseboards have been removed
The concrete has been vacuumed and vacuumed some more - yuck!
The wood has been picked up and is in the house "acclimating"
The master bedroom has been painted
We're camping out - which, in this case, means our mattress is on the floor smile Low lighting makes everything look lovely, doesn't it? Well maybe not wrinkly sheets, but that 100% cotton for ya.
The wood is even more beautiful than the sample! I'm so excited! It's going to be awesome!
The installers are scheduled to arrive next week
We bought a nifty new compresser with two nailer guns (we always buy new tools for DIY projects, am I allowed to call SuperDave's tools "nifty" or is that a girly term?)
You can not even imagine how hard my husband has worked on this project already and we're not done yet! Times like these are exactly why I call him SuperDave. I did some of the work too, maybe 20%? More if you count all the decision making. I still have to decide on rugs.
Now I am asking myself these questions -
Traditional or Transitional?
Wool, nylon or polypropylene?
Light or Dark?
Plush or Shaggy?
So much to choose from! But the wood decision turned out great and I'm sure the rugs will be awesome too.
And NOW for no particular reason -
Here's a picture of my grand dog, Willie, isn't he cute?
And here's my girls showing their baby bumps a few weeks ago!
They didn't know this picture of them was going world wide.
Love & Laughter,
Laura

New floors and new babies all in one year! Lucky you. The flooring you chose is gorgeous! Oops, so are the mommies to be.
Yes, Maureen, it's an exciting year around our house. I told my husband that I had to pick a rug for the living room that was soft and good for babies to sit on and play. He laughed a little - but I was serious.
Laura, I love the look of your new floors. I bet you are anxious to get them installed and everything put back together. Thanks for joining the Open House party.
xx, Sherry
