My Not Formal Dining Room at Christmas

The decorating in my dining room this Christmas is different than what I've done in the past.  I couldn't duplicate what I did last year unless I pulled up pictures - but I intentionally did something new with mostly old stuff.  Our dining room is not formal - we have no formal rooms. It's comfortable and casual and you can pop in there for any meal.  It's just as convenient as the breakfast table, but the chairs are more comfy.  I waited years to get rid of the toile wallpaper in the dining room and paint the walls. Now that it is complete I really love this room.  You can read about that project here.

Here's how the Christmas decor all came together.

The only new items here are the feather floral picks and the JOY sign.

My stylish and serene angel sporting her animal print and fur gown.

I usually put this Holiday Spice Christmas tree cookie jar by Pfaltzgraff in the middle of my dinging room table, but I put something different there this year.

This amazing apothecary jar is new (on the cheap from Marshall's). For Christmas, I filled it with these colorful ornaments that I bought a few years ago - just for fun.  I kept the chandelier decor very simple this year with silver bow ornaments and colorful disco ball ornaments that coordinate with the ones in the jar.

I love these peacock ornaments.
The nativity for this room sits in the tray on the table.

Peace - My wish for you this Christmas.

Different is good.

Mix it up!

Isn't it fun to do something completely different from what you usually do? I love the fact that all of your rooms are comfortable for everyday living!
