Happy Birthday, Dallas Arboretum and Chihuly Glass

October was a busy busy month and I was already behind on a few things just about everything (but I was having fun!) and then I got sick - really sick.  I was sick more than a week (missed four days at my job and more blogging), but I'm finally on the mend!

Even while I was sick a lot was going on.  For one thing, my baby girl had a birthday.  As a result, I have a question for you.

How do they go from this

To this

So Quickly?

One of life's greatest mysteries I suppose...

As part of the birthday festivities (we're all spoiled and celebrate about a week around our house 'cause we are special) we spent an afternoon at the Dallas Arboretum where they are having a Chihuly Glass exhibit this year.  It was a beautiful fall afternoon and we saw some beautiful nature and art.  I would love to share the hundreds of pictures but I will limit it to a few dozen or so.

First of all, because it it fall there were pumpkins and fairy tales.

There were a LOT of pumpkins.
(so many that I feel sorry for the people who have to remove them)

There were beautiful plants and fall colors

And there was art

If you get a chance visit the Dallas Arboretum, it is a beautiful garden and was even more enjoyable with the Chihuly Glass Exhibit on display (through the end of the year).  http://www.dallasarboretum.org/

I overheard a little girl ask her parents, "why don't they melt?" while looking at this one.

I thought she had a valid point, they do look like ice when the sunlight reflects on them.  Have a good one!

Working for the weekend,

Laura

What great shots of the Arboretum's Chihuly display. I remember everyone being in a panic, when we had that large hail storm during the spring. Fortunately, the damage was minimal; and easy to repair. All of their seasonal displays are incredible. Happy (belated) b'day to your daughter!

Thanks for stopping by Shenita! I'm thinking maybe we need to go to see it after dark too. But that may require me spending time learning how to use my camera off the manual setting a little more. Guess I could do that "in my spare time" :)
