July 4th is a holiday that holds great memories for most Americans. On this day we celebrate freedom. We celebrate our privilege to live in the greatest country on earth.
My memories of Independence Day include
Fireworks - just a few when I was growing up with a Roman Candle as the grand finale! We saved up our hard earned coins and each bought a few. Since we lived in the country we lit our fireworks right in our own front yard. It's a magical thing for little girls to dance with sparklers in both hands.
Food - Homemade Ice Cream, Watermelon, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Lemonade, Garden Fresh Vegetables - All the best foods of summer
More Fireworks - Later in life with large family groups we had lots of fireworks that went on and on until late into the night
Beach Fireworks - my personal favorite, of course, fireworks shot over the ocean or a lake
I wish for each of you a wonderful holiday filled with family, friends, food and fireworks!
Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day, Laura!
(OK, a day late.)
Just trying to get caught up with blog reading after too long away.
Hope yours was wonderful.
My fondest memories surround the food. I'm always about the food.
