Chewie's Story - How to Rescue a Cat from the Lockup

Last year about this time we decided we had recovered sufficiently from the loss of our cat, Yoda,
to consider adopting a new friend for our kitty Obi (and for SuperDave.)

After reviewing some photos on the Animal Shelter website (sniff, sniff) we drove over and my husband picked out this little guy. (so hard to leave with just one when so many animals need good homes)

Fortunately, this sweet boy picked Dave as his person so it all worked out fine.

We named him Chewie, no need to discontinue our Star Wars theme at this point.

We had to leave him for a day or two for the necessary "surgery" and then we brought him home.  He had been on his own for an undetermined amount of time before being escorted to the lock up and you could tell he was very happy to be living in our home.  He has really blossomed during the last year and he's now an important member of our family.

He LOVES visiting the back yard and
he comes when you call his name.

Cats at our house live in the lap of luxury and receive a lot of hugs and plenty of food.  Also, we have a large selection of pillows to sleep on, I think Prince Obi taught Chewie that cats are supposed to sleep on pillows.

Or if you prefer a stack of pool towels makes a great bed.

It didn't take long for these two tabby boys to
become close friends -
and share a nap right in my clean laundry!

I swear we only give them water to drink -
I think they were just sleepy!

I'm sure they are going to be life long friends,
as long as Chewie doesn't try to take
over the remote control for the TV.

I'd love to hear about your pets (and their odd personalities).  Unless of course, your pets are "normal" and I'd love to hear about them too.

Live, Love, Laugh,

 Laura

Such beautiful cats! Chewie looks as though he's settling right in with the rest of the family. I love the picture of him sitting on his haunches. So cute!

Thanks for linking up to our Rockin' Pet Linky Party! (Newest follower.)

Oh, my goodness, your tabby boys are so cute! I have such a soft spot in my heart for tabby cats. :) I love the picture of Chewie "prairie dogging," as my husband and I call it when a cat stands on his hind legs. :)
